FAQ

API questions developers ask first.

Is this an AI detector?

No. Deslop is an editing utility. It does not claim authorship detection, plagiarism checking, or detector bypass. It reports explainable writing patterns and applies safe mechanical edits.

What does rewrite change versus analyze?

POST /analyze returns findings, scores, and stats. POST /rewrite also returns textClean, changesApplied, and the edits it actually applied. Higher-layer findings stay flagged for humans.

Will it rewrite code blocks and URLs?

No. Protected ranges cover fenced code, inline code, quotes, and URLs. Those spans are copied through byte-identical.

Which languages are supported?

English only in the base ruleset. Non-English documents are rejected before analysis.

How do I authenticate requests?

Send your Datpaq API key as an x-api-key header or an api_key query parameter. Keys are created in the Datpaq dashboard and a free tier is included.

Clean copy with rules you can audit.

Explainable findings and safe mechanical rewrites for English prose and Markdown, without an authorship detector.
